This superb marble, datable to the early 1st century AD, preserved at the Vatican Museum in Rome will be a luxurious addition to any classic or contemporary interior decor. It was found in the Villa of Livia, wife of Augustus, at Prima Porta along the Via Flaminia. It depicts the emperor in the act of speaking to the soldiers, dressed in richly decorated breastplate and with a cloak around his hip.
